Pathways to Credit
Credit for Prior Coursework
Apply credits earned at prior institutions toward your degree. For undergraduate degrees, that can cover up to 75% of your program. To start the credit evaluation process, contact each of your prior institutions and request that your official transcripts be sent directly to the Office of the Registrar at Document@PurdueGlobal.edu or by mail to:

Credit for Work Experience
If you believe you have work experience applicable toward your program of study, enroll in a College Credit for Work Experience course. Undergraduate students who complete and submit a Credit for Work Experience portfolio save an average of nearly $11,000 on tuition.
- If you have not yet started classes at Purdue Global or are enrolled in an ExcelTrack® program, explore LRC100: Pathway to College Credit — Portfolio Development. This self-paced, self-directed, non-credit course is offered online through Purdue Global.
- If you have started classes at Purdue Global, explore EL206: Academic Prior Learning Portfolio. This is a 10-week, 6-credit, instructor-led course. Contact your Student Advisor at 866-522-7747 for details.

Credit for Military Training
On average, Purdue Global military graduates are awarded 54% of the credits needed for an associate’s and 45% of the credits needed for a bachelor’s.
If you are a military student, have the official transcripts of your training sent directly from the service branch to the Office of the Registrar right away. Only transcripts received directly from Army/ACE or Sailor/Marine will be accepted for official review.

Credit for Professional Certifications and Training
Have you completed professional certifications or training? If so, you may be eligible for credit toward your degree. Here are some examples:
- American Council of Education (ACE) — evaluated corporate and organizational learning classified as college-level coursework
- Law enforcement and fire service training
- Fire academy and fire service association articulation agreements
- IT certifications and examinations completed within the past 3 years (view a full listing of certifications and exams approved for transfer)

You can earn credits by passing standardized exams offered through approved organizations or Assessments of Skills and Knowledge available through Purdue Global.
